A signature database, updated in real-time using high speed PUSH technology, provides comprehensive recognition of more than 76,000 known viruses, worms, spywares, Trojans and general malware threats. More than 670 different compression and encoding formats are supported. For new and emerging threats, the state-of-the-art heuristic analyzer uses both cryptanalysis and statistical analysis techniques to block even previously unknown viruses and worms.

Spam Protection
The eMailProtect Anti Spam email gateway achieves an industry-record 95% detection rate, with almost zero false-positives. Combining comprehensive header-analysis, with full-textual analysis of the message body, as well as attachments, the system constantly tunes itself to improve the Spam "hit-rate".
Multiple techniques are simultaneously utilized, including distributed mail signature databases, DNS lookups, real-time blacklists and URL categorization against the SurfControl database of more than 6 million URLs.
Bayesian filtering and heuristic tests are also supported, and used alongside auto-white listing to further increase accuracy.

PUSH technology
As soon as the updates are available they are pushed to the system in less than 45 seconds. This contrasts with all our competitors who use polling technology, which only updates as and when the clients' software internal timers tell them to update. This can mean that an update may have been available for many hours, but will not have been delivered to the client site, because the timer at the client end will not have triggered an update.
